What are the causes of tinnitus?

There are a number of factors that can cause or aggravate tinnitus. We list only the major causes below:

I have had sinus problems most of my life and have taken a lot of antibiotics for this. My symptoms are a continuous humming noise night and day in my left ear with occasional 'clacking' at night.

The middle ear has mucous membranes surrounding it.

The mucous membranes produces mucus which cleanse the ear. This mucus is then supposed to drain out of the middle ear via the eustachian tubes into the throat.

In many cases the mucus builds up in the middle ear as a result of the mucus becoming thick and viscous.

Individuals who suffer from this type of tinnitus are usually prone to allergies, or have abused drugs such as antibiotics or antihistamines.

These antibiotics and antihistamines often cause the mucous to become too thick and viscous, therefore not allowing the mucus to drain out via the very narrow eustachian tube.

Tinnitus noises as a result of this include clucking or cracking, gurgling or whirring sounds. These noises may be aggravated or relieved by swallowing or blowing the nose since there is often a negative pressure in the ear.

Have you ever heard of tinnitus being induced by glucosamine/chondroitin?

We have no known cases of glucosamine/chondroitin causing tinnitus. It is however possible that other medications could be causing your tinnitus.

I am a recording/audio engineer as well as a drummer and have a distinctive ringing in both ears. I can only assume that I've suffered some pretty steady damage to my ears via high SPL's in my early drumming years.

The capsules do not contain any Vitamin A at all. They do contain 10mg of Beta-Carotene in each capsule.

My tinnitus is mainly in the left ear.The high tones have disappeared due to industrial noise.I can't even hear the birds anymore.My tinnitus is distressing most of the time.will your product revers this condition ?

Because of the loudness of my tinnitus I am taking one sleeping pill a night I also have some calming pill ( 3----o.5 mg rivotril a day) also one antidepressant in the morning.Please let me know whether there is any interaction if I take your capsules? and will they revive the dead cells again.

Or at least reduce the volume of my tinnitus which is a high level hissing! ------I look forward to an answer.
